After a 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck the central Philippines, ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Surin Pitsuwan directed the ASEAN Secretariat and the newly-established ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance (AHA) Centre to monitor developments and be ready to provide assistance if required.
